Bollards/Barriers

Bollards are erected to prevent illegal parking or to provide a safety measure, where appropriate.

Extinguishment of Public Right of Way/Closure of Laneway

Resident's who wish to have a laneway closed off permanently must first request that the right of way over the laneway be extinguished.  Once an extingushment has taken place the public no longer have a right of way over the laneway.

Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV's)

Any vehicle which travels in South Dublin County Council’s administrative area which weighs more than 3 Ton is considered a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV).

Road Markings

Traffic Section has responsibility for the installation of all new road markings within the administrative area of South Dublin County Council

Road Signage

Traffic Section has responsibility for the installation of new road traffic signs

Traffic - Pedestrian Signals

Traffic Section has responsibility for the installation of all new Pedestrian Crossings and Traffic Signals at junctions.
