Traffic Management Centre (TMC)
The Traffic Management Centre monitors the road traffic conditions across the county 24 hours a day 365 days each year. Road detection equipment sensing speed, number of vehicles passing, journey times and different vehicle types allow TMC operators and Engineers to respond to problems and keep the network operating and delays minimised.
All major traffic signal junctions include automatic fault reporting back to the Traffic Management Centre for the deployment of repair technician.

Traffic Management statistics:
Junctions with CCTV Cameras 67 - most available on the traffic web site
Junctions with Automatic Counters 50 - collecting speed and traffic volume data
Junctions with Remote Monitoring 80 - with automatic fault reporting
Journey times are gathered by the 86 ANPR cameras deployed across the South Dublin County Council road network
